Since the University cannot rule out that COVID-19 will still be lingering and posing a threat to global public health in the coming few months, the University has decided to suspend all summer in-person outbound programmes in the academic year of 2020/21, given our students’ safety and well-being always remains our top priority.

Through Study Abroad Partnerships (SAP), students can enrol in online short-term programmes at renowned universities in Australia, Europe, Korea, UK and USA for intensive study and research, or undertake internship in vibrant overseas city to gain practical work skills.

Most host institutions will offer online learning options to their programmes this summer. You may refer to the host institution’s website for details. It would be a great opportunity for you to immerse yourself in a fruitful learning experience from the comfort of your home!

To participate in one of the programmes listed under SAP, you will first need to obtain the nomination offer from International Affairs Office before admittance to any of the programmes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time undergraduate students
  • Good academic standing: students with a CGPA 3.0 or above have a relatively higher chance of getting a placement in the programme
  • Outgoing and eager to meet new challenges
  • Ready to be an ambassador of HKU
  • Willing to share exchange experience after the study

Points to Note Before You Apply

  • You are reminded that the teaching mode and availability of the programme is subject to change. Please visit the programme websites for more information on the latest teaching arrangement.
  • Although the pandemic situation remains fluid, you are encouraged to apply and our office will be here to provide support as best as we can.
