HKU has signed a new undergraduate exchange agreement with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), marking the first bilateral education collaboration between the two universities. The signing ceremony took place during a visit to HKU by Professor Emma McCoy, Vice President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Teaching) of LSE, where Professor McCoy met with Professor Ian Holliday, Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) of HKU.  LSE is a global community of people an ideas in the heart of central London. Founded in 1895 as a specialist social sciences university, LSE ranks 5th on the QS world university rankings by subjects. The new agreement, signifying the universities' shared vision of providing holistic education that transcends borders, will enable students to embark on an enriching study abroad journey overseas for a year. It is also a testament to HKU's commitment in whole person education, and its efforts in providing transformative international experiences for students to empower them with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to thrive in an increasingly globalised world.

Upcoming APRU Virtual Student Exchange Co-curricular Program APRU Becoming a Global Learner Leadership Series In partnership with UC Davis, APRU VSE is thrilled to announce the launch of the 4th cohort for the APRU Becoming a Global Learner Leadership Series from January 25 to February 29, 2024! In this free five-session learning series, created by UC Davis in partnership with the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), a cohort of undergraduate students will explore the concepts of culture, cultural values, identity, and power as well as engage in a deeper reflection on how they and others “make meaning”, evaluate intercultural situations, and deal with conflict. Throughout the synchronous virtual sessions, students will gain global skills and understanding that will help prepare them to be leaders in a global world. Sessions will be facilitated by UC Davis Global Affairs staff and they will be interactive, with discussions, activities, and reflections. Because participation will be limited to a small number of students (30-40) from across the APRU network, students will be able to make connections across the Asia-Pacific region and engage meaningfully with their peers. We welcome a range of majors and backgrounds as these global skills are important regardless of your future career path. DIE ZEIT, Germany’s leading weekly newspaper, has published the unique English spoken magazine ZEIT GERMANY – Study &amp; Research for international students and young scientists as a guiding journal that provides detailed information and testimonial reports about moving to the country for studying and researching, giving at the same time a colorful impression of the German landscape of science, culture, nature and its social diversity. The ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS) Capacity Buildings 2024 is a youth leadership programme centring the theme "Leadership &amp; Society 5.0", with collaborative programme elements taking place both virtually and physically. The programme invites participation of students who are actively engaged in student and/or youth organisations/associations, aged 18-30 from Asian and European countries.  &nbsp; What is ASEFYLS? The ASEF Young Leaders Summit (ASEFYLS) is a Youth platform that connects young people across Asia &amp; Europe, applying a 360 degree approach in leadership development and community engagement: 1) self-leadership (you), 2) team leadership (we) and 3) societal leadership (all). The Society 5.0 concept describes a human-centred society that balances economic advancement with the resolution of social problems by a system that highly integrates cyberspace and physical space. ASEFYLS explores what kind of leadership is needed for Society 5.0 and how the younger generation can prepare for an ethical, sustainable, and digital future. &nbsp; Programme Timeline The ASEFYLS Capacity building 2024 programme consists of 3 phases with the aim of giving participants the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and turn theory into action: 1.
