Thammasat University – Exchange Programme

Inaugurated in 1934, Thammasat University, previously known as the University of Moral and Political Science, was first established with the purpose of educating Thai people on democracy, which had been introduced to the nation two years prior. Thammasat’s philosophy was coined after its founder, Dr. Pridi Banomyong’s speech, “A university is, figuratively, an oasis that quenches the thirst of those who are in pursuit of knowledge. The opportunity to acquire higher education rightly belong to every citizen after the freedom of education.”

Since then, Thammasat has transformed into a public research university with comprehensive course offerings. The University currently consists of 19 faculties, 7 colleges, and 7 institutes, offering more than 290 academic programs to over 33,000 students on its two main campuses in Bangkok Metropolitan Areas and four regional campuses.
