About the Programme

Hokkaido University, one of Japan's top national universities, was founded in 1876. Renowned globally for its excellence in disciplines such as social and natural sciences, and the humanities, Hokkaido University is situated in the scenic city of Sapporo. The main campus offers a unique blend of urban convenience and natural beauty, surrounded by national parks and a World Heritage Site.

Originally founded as Sapporo Agricultural College, the university is known for welcoming international students from over 85 countries, promoting cultural exchange and global citizenship.

Hokkaido University has 34 faculties, including law, medicine and economics and business administration, and excels in research fields like chemistry, earth and ocean sciences and material sciences.
