About the Programme
Founded on the radical vision of Joseph Chamberlain in 1900, the University of Birmingham represented a new model for higher education. It was England's first civic university, a place where students from all backgrounds were accepted on an equal basis. The university is associate with 10 Nobel Laureates in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, and peace, who have made some of the science's greatest discoveries, including in recent times the Higgs Boson and Gravitational Waves. Birmingham's research efforts continue to provide innovative solutions to challenges faced in the country and across the globe.
The University has a vibrant and diverse student body, with 35,000 students of over 150 different nationalities on campus. It is organized into five academic Colleges, including Arts and Law, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Life and Environmental Sciences, Medical and Dental Sciences, and Social Sciences. Each College consists of a number of Schools and departments, offering over 350 undergraduate courses.
