About the Programme
Founded in 1793, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is the first public state university of the United States. As the flagship of the University of North Carolina system, it has grown into one of the most renowned teaching and research universities in the country.
UNC-Chapel Hill's mission is to serve as a centre for research, scholarship, and creativity and to educate a diverse community of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to become the next generation leaders. The University extends its knowledge-based services and resources to the citizens of North Carolina and other institutions to enhance quality of life of all people in the State.
Chapel Hill is a small college town with approximately 60,000 residents, of which 18,500 are undergraduate students and 10,000 are graduate students. The area has rich cultural, historic, dining, and sports opportunities, allowing allow students to experience college and community life in the United States. UNC-Chapel Hill provides a wide range of courses encompassing different disciplines, currently offering 78 bachelor's, 113 master's, and 66 doctoral degree programs to a total of 31,539 students on campus.
