About the Programme
Founded in 1869, the University of Otago was the oldest university in New Zealand. It is a research-led university with the mission to create, advance, preserve, promote, and apply knowledge, critical thinking and intellectual independence to enhance the understanding, development and well-being of individuals, society, and the environment.
Otago is organized into four divisions: health sciences, sciences, humanities, and the Otago Business School, also known as the division of commerce. It offers 140 courses across the divisions to 20,000 students on its main campus in Dunedin and four satellite campuses in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Invercargill, of which 1,480 are international students. Exchange students have the opportunity to attend courses offered in Dunedin, a small yet lively city on New Zealand's South Island, recognised for its striking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
